Pastoral Counselling Confidentiality Covenant

The solemn ecclesiastical obligation of certified ministers serving on the RCCG YAYA Global Care Desks.

1. The Sacred Seal of Pastoral Listening

When a young adult reaches out to the YAYA Counselling Desk, they place deep trust in Christ and the ministry. Every counsellor approved for duty agrees under sacred oath that all disclosures, confessions, personal trials, and prayer requests shared in confidence will remain private.

Counsellors are prohibited from discussing personal session disclosures with family members, friends, or other church members outside of approved supervisor clinical consultation.

2. Mandatory Crisis & Safeguarding Exceptions

As Christian ministers, we are bound by love, biblical wisdom, and moral responsibility to protect human life. Confidentiality cannot be sustained when there is:

  • Clear and imminent threat of suicide or grievous self-harm.
  • Actual or suspected sexual, physical, or emotional abuse involving a child or vulnerable person.
  • Expressions of intent to commit acts of terrorism or severe violence against others.

When such circumstances occur, the counsellor will immediately activate the internal supervisory crisis protocol to preserve life.

3. Digital Privacy & Anonymity

Anonymous sessions are protected by 128-bit cryptographic tokens. You are never forced to supply your name, phone number, or physical location to receive biblical guidance, scripture comfort, and prayer.
